our personalized graduate degree lets you focus on your interest areas while preparing you for teaching, phd study, or private industry employment. approximately 90% of our graduates go on to secure relevant positions in these areas. the master of arts in communication, technology, and society develops your critical thinking, global insights, and historical perspectives regarding technological research, debates, and decision-making as they intersect different areas of our lives. emphasizing the impacts and interconnections of technologies in culture, a full range of theoretical and methodological approaches are deployed, including social science, critical/cultural, ethnographic, and others. gain the tools to understand, utilize, and investigate technologies as social phenomena in various communication contexts. become prepared to enter doctoral study, teaching, business, politics or social organizing with advanced communication expertise.
currently, most full-time students receive a full tuition waiver plus teaching and/or research assistantships with a stipend of approximately $12,000 per academic year
